Waterproofing basement walls

Project:
Island 6

Description:
The new Houthaven district in Amsterdam consists of seven artificially constructed islands. Libau Island is the 6th island and is right across the prestige project Pontsteiger. The island will consist of an underground parking garage and a mix of 116 apartments, single-family homes, lofts and studios.

The concrete basement walls of the underground parking garage have been thoroughly cleaned. This is done to free the walls of any dust, dirt or grease. After the walls have dried, a layer of Liquid Rubber BelowGradeis applied. This liquid coating is sprayed with the two-component spray system to a thickness of 2 mm. Waterproofing the outside of the basement walls will protect the concrete from moisture ingress. A critical detail for basements, but easy to achieve with Liquid Rubber!
